Georgia Heartland's newest adoptive families
and their wonderful new family additions!
Here's Rosie and Larry watching TV together.

The Callaway family adopted DC, Duce and
Dawson. As you can see it has been a good match for both the kittens and the
family.

Steve and Mary Teague have adopted Drefan and Doc.

Mike and Mary adopted Digger (also known as Duke), our mascot for
Doggie Dash 2008. Here is what Mary had to say in a letter to us
last week: We took Duke to our vet this afternoon to have him meet him and let us know how much he wants Duke to weigh and about a preferred food for him. He was kind enough to make time in his day to see Duke especially since he was adopted! He loved him! Said he looked good, gave him a good massage, checked his ears, rear end, teeth, eyes, surgery site, etc. He found everything fine except Duke has a cracked tooth on the upper left side of his mouth. He said he didn't feel it would cause him any problem and once he is acclimated to us to schedule an appointment in a month and he will remove the tooth. So overall Duke is fine. He is very attached to me and that has surprised Mike. Mike wonders if maybe he was abused by a male at some point in his young life. He had a good night last night in our laundry room. We put up a baby gate so he could see out and he slept on his bed. We didn't hear him all night and I came downstairs at 6:45AM this morning and he greeted me with his tail wagging! I took him outside and he did his business just fine. He hadn't messed or wet in the laundry room. We will keep you posted from time to time on his progress. He sends kisses back to you! P.S. He jumped up on the sofa last night! The many Georgia Heartland volunteers who came to love Duke are especially happy about this happy tale! |
